My name is Marieke Timmer, and I live in the Netherlands.
A short introduction to my agility journey:
I started agility in 2007 with my first Border Collie, a three-year-old rescue dog. A year later, in 2008, I entered my first agility competition. Since then, agility has become a major part of my life.
Over the years, I have actively competed with my Border Collies and have had the opportunity to participate in several prestigious international events, including the World Agility Open (WAO). Alongside my regular job, I also work as an agility trainer for a number of hours each week, helping both dogs and handlers develop their skills and confidence.
At the end of 2022, I earned my FCI Agility Judge qualification, and I have thoroughly enjoyed judging ever since. One of the things I love most is seeing the determination and partnership between dogs and handlers as they give their very best on the course. As a judge, I strive to design smooth, flowing, and fast courses that also challenge teams to demonstrate their technical skills.
I am incredibly excited to be judging at the European Open 2027, the biggest event I have been selected for so far. I would also like to sincerely thank everyone for their trust and confidence in me as a judge and for giving me the opportunity to be part of this fantastic event.
